The idea of painting a puzzle that would reveal something within the missing pieces has been an idea since my initial sketches of "things to paint" back in early 2017. The problem was that while I knew I wanted to paint "a puzzle," the question was "of what?” I had ideas for planets (revealing a.i.), a casino (revealing crime), and probably a half dozen other things.
